The Junction
More than just a pub. A meeting place for generations.
"Where the road from Hawkhurst meets the path to Robertsbridge..."
The Crossroads
For over a century, this building has stood watch over the junction. Travelers coming down from the Weald towards the coast would stop here to water their horses before the final leg of the journey to Rye.
From The Curlew to The Duck
Formerly known as The Curlew, this building has evolved with the times. In 2025, we peeled back the layers to reveal the original brickwork and restored the heart of the pub.
Rebranded as The Duck Inn, we honor the wildlife of the nearby River Rother and the whimsy of countryside life. But we never forget our place: At The Junction.
The A21 Connection
Historically vital for goods moving between London and Hastings. The pub served as a key exchange point for news and trade.
Bodiam Castle
Just 2 minutes down the road, the Castle brings visitors from around the world. We have been feeding those explorers for decades.
